High School Credited Courses

High School Credited Courses Taken During Middle School
(Spanish, French, Algebra, Geometry, Alg II/Trig, Pre-Calculus)

In the past, these courses were only added to the high school transcript at the request of the family. Now, starting with the 2019-2020 school year, the state law stipulates that once a student has successfully completed a qualifying course, the credit earned and grade will be automatically added to the student’s high school transcript unless one of the following options is requested by the student and student’s parent/guardian:

  1. You may request the course and credit be added to the student’s high school transcript with a non-numerical grade (“pass”) for the semester(s) specified. The credit will apply to fulfilling high school graduation requirements, but the grade will not be included in the student’s high school grade point average.
  2. You may choose not to have this course included on the student’s high school transcript at this time.

If neither of these options is selected, the course and credit will be included on the student’s high school transcript with a letter grade for the semester(s) specified. The credit will apply to fulfilling high school graduation requirements, and the grade will be included in the student’s high school grade point average.

Please note that none of these decisions are binding at this time. A student may make changes to this selection up through the end of their junior (11th grade) year. Again, these forms can be turned into the school counselor any time between now and the end of their 11th grade year. Completed forms are submitted to the counselor at the school the student currently attends.
